What I do

As a person-centred counsellor I believe that each of us has the capacity to heal, grow and be self-determining. I’m not here to judge or decide what’s best for you – or what you should talk about. I believe that you’re the expert on your life and your experiences. My role is to be alongside you, exploring the things that are important to you.

I’m here to provide a safe space, where together we can build a trusting relationship and work through the issues that bring you to counselling.

I also offer working creatively, using sandtrays and art materials. This can be a helpful way to engage with feelings, rather than thoughts.

Counselling can be hard work, but it can also be very rewarding and enriching.

Counselling for individuals – I offer both short-term and long-term work.  Short-term work usually lasts for around 6 to 12 weeks, and long-term work will continue for as long as you feel you need the extra support. We can discuss how many sessions you would like to have during our initial consultation and I’ll always be guided by how many sessions you feel are right for you.

EAP counselling (Employee Assistance Programmes) – I provide counselling for employees of companies including Health Assured, Sussex Community Development Association and Sussex Occupational Health.

Clinical Supervision – I am also a qualified supervisor. In my supervision practice I offer a space where counsellors and psychotherapists can explore their work in a supportive, educational and open environment, guided by the ethical framework of the BACP. Please get in touch if you would like to know more about how I work and what I offer.

Covid-19 – I am currently offering sessions face-to-face and online via Zoom video-conferencing or by telephone. If either of us had to self-isolate then sessions would move to online or telephone sessions.
